In the middle of the lake are several restaurants where families live and serve food for visiting tourists.
The boat where I land is smaller than most one-bedroom apts. Here a family of 5 live. Not only do they own a thriving restaurant but as I step off my boat and onto their theirs, just a step away are caged crocodiles. Their young and entrepreneurial daughter is raising them to sell in Siem Reap for their skins as bags and belts, as well as for food.
Here’s a photo of the young business woman, delicate and soft spoken. One could hardly guess that she has spent years raising crocodiles.
