It’s 5:45 pm. I’m at Vodaphone.
This could be anywhere… Paris, Frankfurt, Waimanalo… but today it’s Mumbai.
Technology, regardless of my opinion of it, has flung open a door of possibilities. Where our ancestors once gathered around fires to bear witness to one another, we now share our stories in a multitude of ways and on a host of platforms.
In my own clumsy effort, I’m slowly developing a friendship with technology because it makes possible the amplification of voices from cultures that have been misunderstood, marginalized, at at times altogether dismissed.
Regardless of how long the wait or how frustrating the process, these advancements, if used wisely, can dismantle borders and dissolve prejudice as never before.
So here I stand in a crowded telecommunications store believing in a world of possibility
PS: Remember to bring your passport and extra photos... The cost of connecting requires attention to such details.
